This was an interesting shop. Some of the foods here were different than I am use too. I seen a big carrot and blue crab. I learn that these crabs can be without water for 24hrs. They were very aggressive and it's because of the heavy metal pollution in the ocean where they were caught. A lot of the foods where packaged in another language.
I love the selection of prepackaged Asian drinks, candy, & snacks here but the fresh areas have left a lot to be desired. The fruit and veg are inconsistent in terms of quality. Tonight I bought fresh salmon that said it was packaged today and best through the next 5 days. The color was good and it was firm but when I took it out of the cellophane I thought it had an off smell. I cooked it anyway. Took one bite completely. Sour with aftertaste cleaning product. Clearly it was rotten it went into the trash. $10 wasted.
Oh yeah!!! 🫶🏽 and all golden 5 stars for them!!!
Not only the groceries store is great! They have a ton of Asian products (which if you follow my reviews you see we are big consumers of Asian products), well organize merchandise, fresh produce products and great offer in general… BUT ALSO! They have a great Boba tea shop inside for which we keep coming back again and again folks!!!
Great flavors, fresh boba, and the cheese topped teas are to die for!!!🤤🤤🤤🤤 so yeah! All my stars and totally recommended.
My first time in a Fresh International Market and i never wanted to leave! Every kind of packaged noodle you could want, a fresh (frozen) fish ball section you buy by the pound, a butcher, Shiseido makeup counter, plenty of fresh food and an amazing skin care section. I will be seeking out this store in every city I visit from now on! Super clean, well-lit and very organized.
Security trailed me and my wife the entire time we were here. They made no effort to hide that they were trailing us, peeking in our cart, and being a general nuisance making us uncomfortable.
I’m not sure why we didn’t just abandon our cart and leave, but trust me, we won’t be back when we’re treated like this. Don’t go here if you’re not of a certain race, I guess?
I’ll stick with Mitsuwa down the road.
As an Asian I’ve visited almost all the Asian groceries stores in Chicagoland but this store is one of the most expensive Asian stores on my list. I usually buy a lot of vegetables in the smaller stores in Chinatown but here I tend to skip the fresh vegetable area. The vegetables here often look sad and not so fresh, especially the unique one such as lotus (which I get it because not many people are buying them but I would expect to pay less if they are not so fresh). I don’t always find the things I want, especially the trendy snacks and instant noodles that other Asian stores carry. Maybe the store is trying to be a more general Asian store and catering to a wider population of Asians so that’s how you pick your inventory. I’ll still visit the store from time to time when it’s on the way but it’s hard to say it’s my favorite Asian store or a must go.
This review is for the Beef Noodle Soup I had at the food court.
It's an insult they served this poor quality frozen beef which you normally find in a "all you can eat " hot pot joint . Not only was it tough, there's more fat than meat.
Food court staff are nice and I don't think they are responsible for this, with so many Noodle places in the area, there are better choices. Be warned.
They have Malatang now!!!!!!! My husband and I went on Thursday- 11/4 around noon, and I’ve always loved this market because it reminds me of home. We are originally from SoCal, so this market is loaded with a lot of Asian snacks you can’t …
